Ing. Jiri Gavor, Ph. D.


Mr.Gavor is the founding partner in ENA, one of the first private energy consulting companies in the Czech Republic. Mr.Gavor has the science degree from the Czech Technical University in Prague. He gained his industrial experience in several engineering and consulting institutes and for 4 years he worked as the advisor to the vice-minister for fuel and energy.


His professional background includes research on the application of advanced energy technologies and estimation of their economic effectiveness. He carried out a number of studies concerning the price relationships of fuels, heat and power and their competetiveness on specific energy markets. He leads big industrial energy audits. His clients include almost all major Czech and Slovak companies in energy business. Mr.Gavor actively cooperates also with international institutions including international arbitration tribunals.


His knowledge of languages includes Czech, English and Russian.

Ing. Vladimir Stepan


In 1977, he graduated from the University of Economics in Prague, specializing in industry economics.


Since 1977, he worked for the Czech Gas Company, division of economy and trade. He was a member of the team responsible for planning and economic strategy of the company. Later, he specialized in the economy of distribution and transmission of natural gas, including the Transgas system. In 1990, he was appointed deputy general director for economy and trade. He led the negotiations on the purchase and transport of Russian gas. He prepared diversification of gas sources. Since 1992, he has been the founding partner in ENA. He cooperates with Regulatory offices in CR and SR on long-term basis especially in preparation of secondary legislation (Market Rules).


His knowledge of languages includes Czech, English, Russian, German and some French.

Ing. Jaroslav Jakubes


Jakubes has graduated from the University of Western Bohemia in Plzen (Pilsen), the Electrical Engineering Faculty, where he specialized in electric power distribution and transmission and technical ecology.  He has also attended post-graduate courses focusing on cleaner industrial technologies and sustainable energy planning and since 2002 he has been an energy auditor certified by the Ministry of Trade and Industry. Since 1996 he has been working as an energy consultant, specializing in energy saving and renewable sources of energy. In 2010 he joined the ENA, s.r.o. company.  He now heads the company’s section and is the company’s key expert on renewable sources of energy, where he specializes above all in wind power, solar photovoltaic, hydro-power, utilization of biomass and biogas issues.  During 2010 he was in charge of energy audits, and due diligence reports on solar photovoltaic projects with the total capacity of 250MW. In the course of his career he has also gained experience in other spheres such as energy statistics and mathematical modelling and analyses of energy markets; projects on energy saving, energy audits and feasibility studies, energy policy and legislation and regional energy planning. He has also taken part in a number of projects supported by the European Commission.

Jaroslav Jakubes is fluent in English, and has a good working knowledge of Russian and German; has published articles in professional journals; given presentations at conferences seminars and training courses in this country as well as abroad.

Ing. Ivan Souček, CSc.

Ivan Soucek is a well-known and respected expert in the field of oil and petrochemical industry in CEE. He is a former CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Czech Refinery Company, the biggest refinery in the Czech Republic. Ivan Soucek graduated from Moscow Chemical Technology Institute and extended his economic education on prestigious institutions: Milano Scuola Superiore E.Mattei (ENI - 1988-1989), De Paul University Chicago/VSE Prague (1993-1994), JICA Tokyo (Production Management - 1994) and PhD studies on VSCHT Praha in 2008. He still co-operates with academic institutions: VSCHT and VSE Prague.

Ivan Soucek specialises on regional business in all the chain from oil production, transportation, processing and marketing of oil products, including biofuels, transaction consultancy and investment project assessment (pre-engineering phase studies, project assessment including optimisation of investment projects portfolio (In co-operation with VSE Prague).

Publishing activities: number of articles and presentations in area of polymer technology, refining, bio-fuels and petrochemical industry development, economics, benchmarking and competitiveness, co-author of book „Business Plan and Investment Decision Making” (Grada 2005) and “Investment Decision Making and Project Management” (Grada 2011)

Magda Oxley


Born in East Bohemia but lived most of her life, 1968-2003, in England. She studied languages, political and economic affairs in London. In 1976 she joined the BBC where she worked for more than 25 years in a number of journalistic and managerial posts with responsibility for news gathering from different parts of the world. During her long BBC career she was also very actively engaged in the late 1980s and early 1990s in various IT projects, introducing new technologies to BBC journalists and also ministry staff not only in the UK but also in BBC outposts in Africa and Asia. She left the BBC and England in 2003 and is now responsible in ENA for international relations and PR.
